The Issues

Collective Bargaining

LECET firmly believes in and advocates for the rights of all workers to bargain collectively as a union.

“The erosion of collective bargaining has undercut wages and benefits not only for union members, but for nonunion workers as well. This has been a major cause of middle-class income stagnation and rising inequality. Yet, millions of workers desire union representation but are not able to obtain it. Restoring workers’ ability to organize and bargain collectively for improved compensation and a voice on the job is a major public policy priority.”

Economic Policy Institute

LECET firmly believes in and advocates for the rights of all workers to bargain collectively as a union. This is a tried and true concept that has built our country’s middle class and stabilized our society for hundreds of years.

Unfortunately the ability of workers to belong to a union has been slowly but very steadily eroding in recent years due to a variety of legislation and policy changes.

LECET will work to fight those policies and protect the rights of our members to remain in a union.

When our members are treated and compensated fairly, they will bring their best to the job site each day and keep union construction as the best possible option.
